Finding Nemo

The photography blog What My Dad Saw has lots of vintage photos of the 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea ride. Like this one:

I loved this ride, and was very disappointed to learn that it's no longer in Disney World. The first time I went to Disney I was young enough to buy the whole thing...learning the truth didn't diminish my enjoyment in the least.

That Joke Isn't Funny Anymore

Pool-rates of the Carribean

Pirates of the Caribbean homage on the cover of Deadpool Corps #3.

Deadpool used to be my favorite Marvel character (when Joe Kelly was writing), back when he was the Robin Williams of comic books. But sadly, he's become the Robin Williams of comic books.

Yoo-Hoo

When I was a kid I had this on one of those VHS tapes of public domain cartoons that you find at the Dollar Store. It cracked me up then and it still does today.

A sing-along reel for Mickey Mouse Clubs , "Minnie's Yoo Hoo"(1930).

Check out this amazing Flickr gallery of vintage Viewmaster scenes from the 60's and 70's. There's Donald Duck, Winnie the Pooh, Snow White, Bambi, and my own childhood favorite, Peanuts. Great nostalgic stuff!

Study ABROAD

If you haven't been following Walt Disney's Comics lately, I suggest you turn off your computer and go down to your local comic shop ASAP. These images are from #704, part 2 of Casty's "Mickey Mouse and the World to Come" series. Eega Beeva, old-timey airplanes, giant robots, Z-Files, a villain who speaks only in rhyme..how could anybody not like this story? They have no soul, that's how.
