Brave New World

Here's how I know we are living in the stupidest timeline:  I just gleefully installed the latest corporate spyware into 6 different devices because I am so excited that I can watch Gargoyles whenever I want.   The President of the United States is committing crimes live on television, entire cities are drowning, the children have become blase about school shootings but hey, I can pay to watch The Disney Afternoon AND The Marvel Action Hour!

Anyway, Disney Plus is great and you should get it.

Is it just me...

...or do you find it sorta creepy when the Ducks interact with "real" people rather than dog-noses?

EXHIBIT A:
From The Disney Afternoon #6, Marvel Comics, 1995

EXHIBIT B:

"Dangerous Disguise" by Carl Barks, 1951

Some people hate the very idea of dog-noses, but not me.   What I had a problem with as a kid (and, to a lesser extent, as an adult) was when the ordinary humans and the funny-animal humans would intermingle.  Do the humans not notice that there are animals walking around, looking and acting almost exactly like people, only just slightly off?  Or perhaps they do notice, but it's considered gauche to bring up in conversation?  Either way, that's some Twilight Zone shit right there.    Creepy.

Bugs is inferior! Worn out and aged!

Cartoon Brew has excerpts from a nutty 1989 publicity packet for The Disney Afternoon. The material brutally slams Bugs Bunny and then-newcomer Tiny Toon Adventures, and also blasts other kiddie cartoon favorites like Alvin and the Chipmunks.
It's very weird to see mudslinging like this from the House of Mouse...the 80's were a strange time.
